Grey Belt Petition

Dear Member,

We have received a message from the Green Belt Council (below), asking for local support.

Sign the Petition

You may be aware of the current debate and concerns about the new proposals for a large housing development on the old Broke Hill Golf Course. One of the Developers is making a new argument that, because the land has been used as a golf course, it has been disturbed by digging bunkers / building a club house and should therefore be classed as ‘Grey Belt’, rather than Green! If you wish to contest this, apart from a direct comment to Sevenoaks Council, then we suggest that you sign the petition in an attempt to force a general debate at Westminster.

We are sending out this link again because we feel this is a really important petition and if you have not already signed, please do so as we need 100,000 signatories to trigger a Westminster Hall debate. The 'Grey Belt' rules introduced by this government represent an existential threat to London's Green Belt and it is vital we get these rules changed.

Kind regards,

Andy Smith
Hon Secretary
The London Green Belt Council
